This summer, we’re proud to enter the third year of our groundbreaking day camp designed specifically for children who are blind or have low vision. Hosted at Fort Hamilton Army Base in Bay Ridge, this one-of-a-kind program provides campers with an unforgettable summer filled with fun, friendship, and adventure.
Led by Irina Kocherova, JCC Brooklyn’s Special Needs Director, and a team of certified professionals, our dedicated staff ensures a high-quality, fully inclusive camp experience tailored to each child’s unique needs.

Why This Camp Matters
Until now, there hadn’t been a single day camp in Brooklyn designed for children who are blind or have low vision. We saw that gap and knew we had to take action. Every child deserves the chance to enjoy summer in a welcoming, supportive, and enriching environment. With your help, we can keep this vital program thriving and growing.

How You Can Help
This summer, we have 40 spots to fill, and the camp remains completely FREE for families. However, the cost of running the program is significant—$2,500 to $2,700 per camper per week.

Your generosity will help us:

  • Provide top-tier programming and adaptive activities
  • Hire experienced, certified staff and specialists
  • Ensure every camper has the tools they need for an amazing summer

And this is just the beginning. Our goal is to expand this program into a full-summer experience in the years ahead.

Will you help us build something extraordinary?
