JCC Brooklyn Camp for Blind Youth is the first-of-its-kind day camp in Brooklyn designed specifically for children who are blind or have Low vision ages 4 through 17. Inclusiveness is central to the JCC Brooklyn mission, and we’re committed to making sure that the kids who participate in our Camp for Children who are Blind or have Low Vision have the same high-quality, enriching, and fun summer experience as kids in any of our day camp programs.
Our experienced instructors are passionate about teaching and inspiring kids to embrace the wonders of Summer Camp. They will guide your child through each activity, offering personalized attention and support every step of the way.

ABOUT OUR FACILITY:
Our camp takes place outdoors on the country-like campus of the Ft. Hamilton Army Base in the heart of Bay Ridge, where the campers have access to our 177-acre facility with Olympic-size outdoor swimming pool, outdoor basketball courts, fields for baseball and soccer, indoor gymnasium with basketball and racquetball courts, outdoor playground, private eight lanes air-conditioned bowling alley, 400-seat surround sound movie theater, arcades, full-size auditorium with stage and café on site.

The Camp for Children who are Blind or Visually Impaired is covered by the generous donations of the Lavelle Foundation for the Blind, The Butler Foundation, and New York Community Trust as well as our very own Board of JCC Brooklyn, JCC Brooklyn Families, and Supporters.
Camp will run in two 2 week sessions
July 1-5 and July 8-12
August 12-16 and August 19-23
8:00 am to 9:00 am – Commute to Camp
9:00 am to 4:00 pm – At Camp!
4:00 pm to 5:00 pm – Commute to Home
A $100 Registration Fee will apply as a deposit and is entirely refundable upon the completion of the camp.
**Refunds will be distributed after 9/1/2024. If the child does not attend the camp, deposits will not be refunded.
Transportation is FREE of charge. Transportation will be provided from all five boroughs. For a list of bus stops in Brooklyn, click here.
