JCC Brooklyn Summer Camp
JCC Brooklyn Summer Day Camp is dedicated to creating unforgettable memories for children and their parents. Join an outstanding group of individuals with creative energy and leadership skills who love camp.
“Camp” cierge Specialist (Parent Liaison) –
Although this person is not a counselor, they work to bridge the communication between camp and home by helping parents get the information, support, and help they need to ensure their child’s success in camp. Campcierge Specialists want to empower parents and ensure they understand what they can do to get involved, keep informed, and share information to help their child do their best. Campcierge Specialists will work closely with the Division Leaders. We are looking for responsible, reliable, and mature applicants who are passionate about working with children but comfortable in forward-speaking roles. Applicants must be excited to bring camp-wide energy and enthusiasm daily to the program while also being willing to address and tackle the most challenging daily situations directly with families.
Summer Camp Specialists for Art, Dance, Music, Fitness/Sports, Wellness, Cooking/baking, etc.
We are looking for individuals with a lot of energy and enthusiasm, who love working with children, and are committed to creating safe, organized, meaningful, enriching, and fun specialty programs.
Lifeguards–
Must have 1 + years of active duty as a certified lifeguard.
Camp Customer Service Representative-
Camp Customer service representatives will manage camp queries and concerns. Camp Customer representatives will also be asked to process orders and modifications and escalate concerns across several communication channels. To do well in this role, you must always maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers.
Division Leaders
Division Leaders act as a liaison between the Camp Director, Staff Coordinator, and the group or division for which they are responsible. Division Leaders will directly supervise counselors, which includes scheduling and group management. Division Leaders review daily camper, parent, counselor, and family liaison feedback to implement adjustments. Under the direction of the Staff Manager, the summer camp Division Leaders are responsible for all day-to-day camp supervision and management of the Summer Day camps, including but not limited to the general supervision of staff and overseeing the implementation of camp activities. We are looking for responsible, reliable, and mature applicants passionate about working with children and excited to bring camp-wide energy and enthusiasm daily to the program.
Head Counselor
Head Counselors report directly to the Division Leader. Head Counselors are responsible for the general safety, development, and fun of up to 18 campers per group, ranging from 4 – to 14 years old. With your co-counselors, head counselors follow the daily schedule to lead their groups between specialist-led activities ensuring proper communication with the rest of the camp staff. We are looking for responsible, reliable, and mature applicants passionate about working with children and excited to bring camp-wide energy and enthusiasm daily to the program.
Counselor
Camp Counselors report directly to the Head Counselors for their assigned age group. Counselors are responsible for aiding in the supervision of all camp participants. Counselors will be responsible for assisting the head counselors in the daily administration of the Summer Day Camp Program, including ensuring the well-being and safety of all participants, administering games and activities, providing daily feedback to the Head Counselor, filling out paperwork, maintaining daily logs, and ensuring a fun and safe environment for the participants. We are looking for responsible, reliable, and mature applicants passionate about working with children and excited to bring camp-wide energy and enthusiasm daily to the program.
Camp Maintenance Team
Maintenance team members are the backbone of the camp. Maintenance team members are responsible for ensuring the set up of all camp activities, moving of various items throughout the camp, cleaning of all locations used by the camp on a daily basis, distribution of snacks to groups and the monitoring of the lost and found. This position does not work directly with our campers. We are looking for responsible, reliable, and mature applicants that are passionate about ensuring the camp runs smoothly on a daily basis.
